Common Hawthorn – Cartaegus monogyna

The Common hawthorn is a shrub to a small tree of up to 10m, endemic to the Bulgarian forests. It blooms between April and May and later in the year bears numerous haws. The haw is an oval, dark red fruit approximately 6 – 8mm in diameter with a single seed.

At Jelev Herbs, we source the Common hawthorn flowers and fruit, which we dry in a humidity-controlled environment and process into:

– Dried Common hawthorn flowers
– Dried Common hawthorn fruits

Both Common hawthorn products produced at our facilities are suitable for culinary consumption, tea making and for use in the healthcare industries.
