Medicinal rose – Althaea officinalis

Description

Medicinal rose is a herbaceous perennial plant widespread throughout Bulgaria. It grows to about 1.2 m in height. All parts of the plant including the roots are used for culinary consumption, tea making and in the healthcare industries. At Jelev Herbs we source both leaves and roots. The leaves are collected between July and August. The roots (only two year old) can be taken during spring and autumn.
